Bent House

I'm filing this one under architecture, but it really should be architorture.

A hundred years or so ago, someone made the mistake of building this house on top of a hill with no windbreaks in place. Over the years, the prevailing west winds swept across the prairie and sculpted this dwelling.

I was very fortunate as I discovered this location just as the sun made its brief appearance from behind the clouds just before setting. I had this light for only 15 minutes.

Just a bit south of Saskatoon--the nearest town would be Shields.

Mate, I love these pictures. Decaying buildings are some of my favourite subjects and these are unique and interesting. Thanks!

Yes, #3 is my favorite! The lighting on all 3 are wonderful! It's amazing that old building is still standing, so severely warped/leaning, as it is! Beautiful captures on all 3!

I worked in the Bakken Formation, North Dakota, Winter 2012, hauling water in support of oil extraction.
Everywhere, there are abandoned farmhouses, outbuildings, machinery and cars from the Depression era.
Alas, I had no time to stop for photos.

Here's the exact location. As you can see, I had to commit a minor act of trespassing in order to get my shots:

Mine too--it's 90% of what I shoot. Here's another one for you--the light was there for maybe 60 seconds:

Thanks, much appreciated. I know what you mean by minor trespassing. When I'm around there, I'll bring my 150-500 Sigma....set at 500mm.

Beautiful lighting and nice composition. perfect timing! I love taking shots like this. Only thing is there're getting harder and harder to find around here.
