My Ol' Boy

This is my old boy Max. (Standard Schnauzer)

He's been through the wars over his 13 years including cancer of the anal gland, rectal tumour, artificial ligament to his left knee fused spinal vertebrae but he has come through it all and soldiers on without complaint.

I've never seen him back down to any other breed and yet I've seen him stand and let himself be punched on the head by a kid he didn't know and still wagged his tail. He is adored by all the neighbours and their kids. His sense of humour shines through every day and as I type this he is lying snoring at my side waiting to go for his walk in the woods.

I took this photo at the back door of my house and inside

Great looking dog! Monochrome is a nice treatment.

Yes Canis, I chose monochrome because it probably suits a pepper and salt Schnauzer more than most other breeds.

+1...those are some of the best canine "portraits" I've seen.

That third picture lets me read his mind: "Why are you playing with that funny looking glass thingy and not my ball?"

3rd photo - he still retains that innocent playful puppy look. Adorable.
