The sun was a great color tonight as it began to sink lower in the sky and then it just disappeared. All caused by the smoke from all the fires in California. Here's a few shots that I got. some PP to correct color.

These are beautiful... I could see the sunset was going to be amazing tonight, but I was in no position to do much with the camera... I am really glad you did.

The napa fire came over the hill and down the squarefield side... The smoke here as been pretty bad for 5 days.

Your shots show that these sunsets are about the only good thing coming from all the fires.

These sunsets are somewhat similar to what we see on the East Coast in the hot, steamy, foggy days of summer. I would imagine that the conditions just north of you must be a nightmare in motion. I'll put the word out to send some rain your way.

Gary and/or Gus,

I am traveling to Napa for the first time in mid-July. Any suggestions for photo opportunities in the area. I will be in meetings for a few days, but will have 2 days of "somewhat" free time. I know we have a couple of vineyard tasting scheduled.

Nice. Did you take these anywhere near the Skywalker ranch? A couple look like the setting sun on Tatooine about when R2 takes off in seach of Obiwan and Luke is moping (as usual).

I like the "texture" of the air visible in #3.
