Abstract Autumn near home

It's been a fine, but brief foliage season here at the home park. Here are three sets of Sugar Maple leaves along the same trail, on the same day, just to show the variety of color from the same species.

And a view of autumn along the home park lake…

Fall color is where you find it… Fall is a misty, foggy season here, which makes for some interesting colors and views.

It also makes for some fog-gemmed spider webs!

And fall is definitely fungus season here in East Tennessee - again, making for some interesting fall color…

One of my favorites too. This one is a bit bittersweet - this 200+ acres adjoins the park, and was offered for sale recently. Unfortunately the State Park system did not have sufficient funds to purchase the land - it is soon to be developed...

That's a great set of shots! Surprised to see so much color still remaining this late in the fall.

Spectacular, all of them. It was a fine year for the Sugar Maples in these parts, too.

That first shot is my favourite among a host of good photographs. Those maple leaves remind me of Holly leaves....maybe because of the colouring, the number and also probably as we are entering the Christmas season.
