The British artist Bruce Mundo specializes in artwork involving light. He has created a piece called Sonoran Light in the Desert Botanical Garden in Phoenix, Arizona. What he has done is basically to cover large parts of the grounds with LED lights in an ever changing color scheme.
We had been invited to the reception on opening night. It was quite crowded. I had expected that it would be crowded and had therefore left the Pentax and tripod at home and only brought my compact
Leica D-Lux (Typ 109).
It turned out to be a good decision - I would have been in everyone's way had I put up my tripod. Instead I resorted to the Leica's night snap mode, in which it takes several images at a hand-holdable speed and then stacks them in-camera.
Bottom line, I got some reasonably sharp night shots at long shutter speeds and without the use of a tripod to boot. I hope you like them.
