Hello all,

Just wanted to share my albums from this year's Nisei Week Japanese Festival, one of the U.S.'s longest running cultural festivals. The gear used to take these photos are my K-5 IIs + Sigma 70-200mm F2.8 APO EX DG OS and K-3 + Sigma 24-70mm F2.8 IF EX DG HSM. I also used my DA 10-17mm Fish-Eye in some of the Closing Ceremony shots.

I also want to point out that I dropped my K-3 + Sigma 24-70mm F2.8 IF EX DG HSM on two separate occasions during this event, yet that combination still managed to snap photos like nothing happened. And they still do.

Is that Japanese Elvis?

Hah hah, yes. Sort of. This group is known as the "Obon Jivers" (obon is a Japanese festival honoring one's ancestors). Their gimmick is dancing obon dances dressed up as Elvis. As far as I've seen, everybody loves these guys.
