That's why one of its nicknames is Wicked-pedia
It's not something I normally use, I just opened a search tab, typed in Magic City in the US and it was the first result.

So are you in any of those cities after all this.

Bogalusa?! No offense to the inhabitants thereof, but I'm quite sure they've appropriated the nickname from somewhere else. We've had it more than 100 years.
Same with Billings, Mt.

" Billings was founded in 1882. The Railroad formed the city as a western railhead for it farther westward expansion. At first the new town had only three buildings but within just a few months it had grown to over 2000. This spurred the Billings nickname of the Magic City because like magic it seemed to appear overnight."

Thank you for that, I'm sure the said mystic appeal will evaporate when the owner has to start to filling in the insurance claim form.

Yes, I'm quite sure all "appeal" will disappear among the insurance claim forms!

Ach, laddie, t'haggis has addled ye a bit. We've had this conversation before, sir. D'ye not recollect?

In how many of those fair burgs would you expect to find orchids in the back yard? Think on it, now, ye get only one guess...

(apologies for the bad Scots imitation)

Well it's like this Mr Insurance assessor... "there we were bobbing about and then all of a sudden my feet got awfully damp, for no real apparent reason".

It was amazing to see how many boaters forgot to put their plug in, before launching. Also amazing to see how fast they could move, when they discovered their boat sinking!

I did recall, but I'm old and couldn't find the conversation in the search here on the forum.

Well I know now it's not Bogalusa, Louisiana or Billings, Montana, just leaves the other eleven...
