Blooming Hibiscus
Lens: FA 31 Camera: K-3 Photo Location: Lake Jackson, TX ISO: 200 Shutter Speed: 1/500s Aperture: F11
Posted By: Sailor, 12-12-2015, 11:45 AM

A couple of days ago I took this pic of one the zillions of hibiscus flowers that have popped up on my wife's plants. I seldom photograph flowers, and my lack of experience is evident here. Although I stopped down to f/11, I misjudged the DOF and those portions of the flower protruding into the foreground are out of focus.

Still, this photo demonstrates that special look - the combination of depth and color - that an FA 31 can produce. My lens was a Christmas gift two years ago, and I estimate it's the lens on my K-3 80% of the time. I've enjoyed this lens more than any I've ever owned, including my A* 85/1.4.

You've posted many lovely shots with the 31 already my friend. And this one is no exception.
Maybe, one of these days, I'll get one for Christmas?? Well, not this year ...
Take care,
