Turnigan Arm

View across the Turnigan Arm of the Cook Inlet taken from McHugh Creek Recreation Area, Chugach State Park, Alaska.
Taken a little after noon on December 12, 2015. This is about as high as the sun gets this time of year.

Beautiful. I remember Turnigan Arms. One of the few places we were told to go to see sheep and dang me if the sheep weren't there waiting for us.

Nice shot. I didn't realize that Alaska was so advanced that it's made it into the 22nd century already.

Took me a second. Thanks for the heads-up!

You are so right!!! I know I am lucky to be here, I keep telling people it's easy to get good shots up here because all you have to do is take your camera outside and take pictures!
It's a great place to learn about photography, because even the crappy shots turn out to be of something spectacular!
I am just beginning to learn post processing techniques and really appreciate all the inspiration and information I find on Pentax Forums.

This photos was taken literally from the side of the road, about 15 minutes outside of Anchorage.

This is what was to my back as I took the first photo:

Beautiful stuff. Thanks very much for sharing.
Apart from learning so much about photography, these forums are great for geography lessons.

Nice shot (the backwards looking one as well). The sun is a little higher here at noon now and a bit too hot to work outside most days.

Beautiful shot. I love it up there and have initial plans for a trip in May. While Turnagain Arm is usually cloaked in clouds, high, low, or both, you captured the beauty of the area very well. I'm still waiting for a chance to see the crazy tidal wave rush up the arm someday and hopefully see those crazy folks that surf it.
