It wasn't that long ago a woman fell to her death doing that.

What do people do with all those selfies? I have enough trouble looking at myself when I comb my hair in the morning. Tourist wave those things around like flags.

They go directly to the wasteland of Facebook/Instagram.

I've done this very thing at Niagara Falls more than once - although the last time was about a generation ago and used very different technology.

My son-in-law was born in Niagara Falls; next time I go, I'll have him give us a personal tour.

Looks like cameras are becoming rapidly a thing of the past... only one in evidence out of all these images.

I'd say 10-1 in favor of phones , even tablets were more numerous than cameras. Including my trip to Bird Kingdom, I saw maybe 1 or two canons, four Nikons, and two of the Nikons were bridge cameras.

Things are returning to normal. When I was a kid everyone shot 110 , brownies and throw aways. An SLR was way more than the average person needed or wanted. I think there was feeding frenzy when DSLR's got cheap, and they sold a pile of them, but the 110 folks are realizing, they need a 110, not a Spotmatic. Phones are way more convenient than 110s. And much better IQ to boot.

There's a lot of people who are discovering that buying an expensive camera doesn't make it easier to take pictures, it makes it harder. As the sensor gets larger, more and more attention has to be paid to depth of field.
