. . . . . .the Band, They want Boat Drinks.

Looks like another cloudy, cool weekend in SE Texas - no sailing and the accompanying photography yet. So I decided to post some shots from last summer, just to remind me of hot, hazy Galveston Bay.

All of these shots were taken of our pier mates when we encountered them on the water. The first is my friend Henry driving his Beneteau 331 in a pretty good breeze:



Other friends, Watts and Faye, smiling from the cabin top of their Island Packet 32; can't remember whether they were on autopilot or whether someone was at the helm.



Finally, a shot of Mel and his daughter on Dark Star (our neighbor on the pier). a fascinating 28-foot custom cutter.

Nice shots Jer, that cutter looks interesting. One of my favorite rigs, especially double headed. Just to make you feel good we won't be sailing much here until late May, and even then it can be darned cool some days.
This is what it looks like a lot in the late fall. Taken last November

If you had asked this guy what he was doing out in a thickening fog you would have gotten this sort of answer:
"Goin' fishin'. Fog? What Fog? Gotta go, tide's risin' " Note that we are poor here in the Bronx, frequently we can't even afford the letter "g".
Here's another shot taken same day, about an hour earlier, you can see the fog was rolling in.
