A Christmas Night Walk Downtown
Lens: DA 10-17 Fisheye, DA 21 Limited Camera: K3, K50 Photo Location: Grand Rapids, Michigan

Took a walk downtown on Christmas night since the weather was so nice. There are not many nights when parking is readily available.

Monroe Center, this road was converted into a pedestrian mall back in the 70's. About 10 years ago it was opened back up to traffic.

Looking back in the opposite direction. The park on the left is named for Rosa Parks. There is an ice rink there in the winter.

A decorated store front and entrance to some apartments.

A decorated lamppost with a mural in the backgound.

Looking back down the road, DA 21 @f3.2

A blue tree.

The downtown tree.

DA 10-17

The guardrail leads up to the ice rink.

Next to the ice rink, you can see the railings for the ice rink on the right.

Happy Holidays to everyone here on the PF.

Nicely done. They are all my favorites. I am curious about one thing. Isn't Grand Rapids typically buried in snow at this time of year? Again, great captures and thanks for an excellent viewing experience. Tony

Very interesting to see a downtown scene without hordes of people rushing about. I can feel the chill and the peacefulness of it. Well done!

Thank you for your kind words. Yes normally we are, last year was terrible. Lake Michigan actually froze over. That may not sound like much but it is 85 miles wide and 300 miles long.

Thank you for the compliment. It definitely was different being there with so few people.
