What a way to be Disturbed
Lens: Tamron 28-200mm Camera: K-50 ISO: 400 Shutter Speed: 1/800s Aperture: F8
Posted By: Dewman, 12-28-2015, 02:21 PM

I live alone and I was sitting in my recliner, TV on, wrapped up in my blanket, hooked up to my oxygen and just not feeling too much in the Christmas spirit..... and the door bell rings. So, I grumble as I unhook the cannula, throw off the blanket, grab my cane and hobble to the door. And THIS is what I saw!!

It was my little neighborhood urchins who came to wish me a Merry Christmas.... and the littlest one said, "We're sorry you aren't feeling very well."

What can I say? What CAN I say? My heart melted and is now in a puddle on the floor!

What a lovely gesture on their part, and a similar image to accompany it.

Champion stuff. The kids are champions for doing it, recognizing your situation (who said neighbours don't notice) and your a champion for making the effort to answer the door and recognize the gesture for what it was.
All the best.

I'm know as the neighborhood "Grandpa," to all the little kids. They all know me by my first name and never fail to say hello as they pass me in a blur when on their bikes or skate boards or sleds. It's a lofty position that I appreciate and take great delight in. The little one with the red knit cap (Lila), top-right, came over earlier in the year with her big dog, Onyx just to wish me Happy Valentines Day! How special is THAT! A lucky man I am, indeed.

That's nice, reminds me of Rupert's story.
You're both Grandpas to the neighbourhood kids.
Nice photo!

Did they shoot you with the nerf guns they are carrying afterwards?

(Late) Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

Not the story I was expecting from the subject line; I was expecting much more traumatic. I'm glad it was one of these sharing and caring (dare I say Kodak) moments.

Now I ask you, how can you beat a Christmas card like that one? Sheer joy.
