Paris from the Trocadero
Lens: Q 02 Camera:Photo Location: Paris ISO: 125 Shutter Speed: 1/200s Aperture: F4.5

This is downsized to 1600x1200, after a little PP from a SOOC JPEG, but I think it illustrates the quality of photo you can get from even the original Q, if you take care with your technique.

As you will no doubt see, the photo was taken at sunset, from the Trocadero, looking out over Paris with the Eiffel Tower in the right middle distance, and Les Invalides in the centre distance.

I'm always amazed at how well this little camera does.

Thank you, Susan. The original is so good, I think it will blow up to make a nice large print.

No matter how many times such images are made, there's no denying the appeal of the scene. Of course, a balmy evening and good company helped on this occasion.

Lovely photo, amazing thinking it is the Q, too. My wife made a drawing from that perspective last year. I just showed this to her and she saw all the details and knows the Paris light. Very nice work.

Thank you, Jacquot. It's a popular spot, and with good reason, too.

Thank you! People who haven't used a Q don't really know what it's capable of, and neither did I until I saw Heinrich's photos on here, so that convinced me to get one, straight away. Nonetheless, the next time I'm in Paris, I hope I'll have a K-1 and a tripod to repeat this exercise - at the very least it'll be my K-3 and the FA31.

I could kick myself for not capturing this one in DNG: I remembered to change the camera setting afterwards, but the light had shifted by then. Still, it meant the night-time shots were as good as they could be, in the circumstances.
