My Best Dove.....
Lens: Bigma 50-500 HSM OS Camera: K5IIs Photo Location: Woods of Otis ISO: 2000 Shutter Speed: 1/160s Aperture: F6.3
Posted By: Rupert, 01-10-2016, 12:18 PM

...of the week! I have littered this place with dove shots in the past year, I have hundreds of them. They keep coming and I keep shooting....it's a sort of addiction.
This one was decent considering the settings and the range @500mm handheld. Sometimes I count well over a hundred on my cedar fence when I put out the feed. They are very tasty birds....but I'd never eat one. OTOH....Otis would eat every one if he could catch them!

Regards!

Thank you Eva!...... and welcome to PForums! That is a lovely little dove you posted! Doves come in all sizes and colors, very interesting and beautiful birds!

I feed the birds (And Squirrels!) twice a day, so there is no shortage of them to shoot around here. At night I feed a family of raccoons, so it is never boring at my place!

Waiting for dinner at Rupert's Place!

Dig in! We always have plenty for all!

Best Regards!

Thank you Heinrich...none of my shots ever come close to your excellent work. You are among the top elite shooters at PForums and I always admire your work. Anyone that is not familiar with your work should get acquainted!

The raccoons....I do love the little critters! This little fellow has grown a lot since this shot, and now weighs around 35 pounds! He's not as cute now, but he is still just as friendly!

Regards!

Quite right, the only thing you post more of is squirrels!

You should label this Otis's Air Force

Actually though it is a nice shot

Thanks Lowell! Otis is not fond of birds and his Army spends a lot of time trying to rob their feeders and run them off. He considers them "parasites" and worthless. Squirrels have little appreciation of other species.....they are mostly gluttonous pigs....
