Lens: 28-45 F4.5 Camera: 645z Photo Location: Oregon ISO: 100

I left MF and film 14 years ago to go digital and it has been a great ride. But, over the past year I seemed to have lost my creativity and the excitement that once accompanied each image is no longer there. although the images are technically very good and very well accepted, to my eye the compositions aren't what they used to be, the images have lost that special spark and feeling, in my mind they have become boring.. I have felt for some time it was time to return to a slower more mathodical approach , it was time to return to Medium Format. Although Pentex nolonger makes my old 67 system the new 645z seemed to offer everything that I wanted. Adjusting to the menus was easy enough and after dealing with DSLR's the dial and button arrangement is a gift.. The camera is everything and more than I could ask for.
Included are a few images from last weekend, other than time spent calibrating lenses, this was the first time I actually went out and shot with the camera. Once again the excitement is there..

Mallee Boy: For lack of a better discription you could call it a historic, tourist almost goast town. It is located in Eastern Oregon not far from the Columbia River. I have been shooting there for a number of years and sadly every year it slips father and father into disrepair. I usually don't bother going until there is fresh snow and the temperature drops into the low teens, something that doesn't happen every year.

You nailed it as I can feel the chill in my bones. Without the tourists, these places will continue to deteriorate until they, sadly, fall down. Yep, I know the tourists keep getting your shots and making life difficult, so there is a benefit in going in the off season and that is VERY off season. Welcome aboard. TFS Cliff

I can certainly see the added detail in these pictures. When I was shooting MF film with my Mamiya, there was that added Depth of the larger format that was missing in the 35mm, but the real difference came when you blew up the image past 8X10.
