Summer, Sunflower, Bees
Lens: SMC Pentax DFA 1:2.8 50mm Macro Camera: K-5 Photo Location: Bendigo, Victoria ISO: 200 Shutter Speed: 1/500s Aperture: F10

I have had this lens for quite sometime, bought for reasons that completely escape now.
Have been viewing the amazing works that people have been posting.

The wind was a problem, causing the sunflowers to sway. I had also to avoid standing on other plants around me.
Clumsy is a less than accurate work to describe me.

This is handheld and cropped square to 300mm x 300mm which allows me to print on A3+ paper.
Made several pictures, this was as close as I got to getting the bee in focus

Hi Murra54. Very good photograph mate. Handholding macro is certainly a challenge, but you nailed this one.

Thank you. I did this on the spur of the moment, without thinking too much about it. So it was a "bit "frustrating to say the least.
The strike rate was not particularly good but I think I will spend more time trying macro.

The macro world is fascinating. The DOF is so small that the strike rate is not as good as with " normal " photos. That is why nailing one is so satisfying. Try not to get frustrated with it. Just enjoy it.

Thanks eaglem, it was looking at some of your photographs that made me get the macro out. Will do some more over the next few weeks, once I have thought about subject matter

So I thought I would crop the bee out of one other photograph that had very out of focus petals in the left third. This represents about 20% of the original photograph. Pretty happy with the lens and what it can do on my K5.
