Old Barn Door Latch

Didn't want to post another goat picture so thought I'd try to be a little more creative with the 35mm macro. I like the textures but original is crisper than uploaded photo. New to the digital world. Am hoping trial and error will get me to where I want to be.

If this is the trial then there aren't too many errors! Nice image, the contrast between the rusty medal and the old wood is interesting, and over it all the lichen sort of flows across the image to join the other elements.

Have you tried it in B&W? May be interesting and draw out some of the textures the colour detracts from

Make sure when you upload the photo that the size is the size the forum accepts, or even a bit smaller. When the forum resizes the image for display, things lose definition. It's the way of the base software - not much anyone can do about it except post images of the right size.

Nicely composed and interesting subject. Colours, details texture.

With regards to crispness a lot is lost in the resizing and upload process. I find it best to firstly resize to 1000-1200 pixels on long side and upload the image to an album on the site. Then link from the album to your posting. Not too sure why it works better but it is noticeable.

Good morning. Thanks for your kind responses. Was good to hear it's normal to lose some quality of image in the process of resizing and uploading. Not being tech savvy at all I thought I was doing something wrong. Will definitely try Bruce's advice. Thanks.
