East Tennessee does not get winter-long snow cover. But we do get a few good snowstorms each winter. Mid January was one of those - we got about 10 inches or more in the valleys of NE TN, and 12 - 20 inches in the higher places. Here are a few scenes from the home park during this recent "snow day."
Not many people were coming to the park for a picnic!
Nor were there many children at the playground…
No one sitting on the park benches, or setting up at the campground…
But we did see many 4-legged visitors - some alone…
Some in pairs…
And some in big groups!
We also saw many hints of wild visitors - can you see the Red Fox tracks near this beech tree shadow?
More fox tracks on up the trail…
And a few more snowy scenes - A black walnut tree "out standing in its field," snow melted and refrozen on twigs, and american holly berries in the snow.
Hope you enjoyed the quick "snow day" tour, and that you'll share your comments & critique!
