A couple of photos from our last Las Vegas day trip, to Red Rock Canyon. Close to Vegas and a half day was plenty.

Beautiful scenery there, isn't it?
By day trip .... did you take a long drive through the area? Do any hiking? Looks like a nice place just to sit, have a beer and/or a sandwich and take it all in for an afternoon.
Thanks for sharing your images!

Very nice. Red Rock Canyon was my escape once when I was in Vegas for a conference for a week. I brought my mountain bike and would go out at sunrise for a nice ride in the mornings. Probably my favorite part of that town.

From the visitor center there is a scenic loop drive with several parking areas at trail heads or places of interest. We mostly just did the drive and hiked only a bit - we had done lots of hiking the day before in Death Valley so the view from close to the car was good enough.

Nice shots. I did the Calico Tank trail (very windy at the end), and some of the Ice Box Canyon trail until it became rather vague and tough for these old legs.

Another place to put on my bucket list. Sigh, at this rate I will never die.

I see nothing wrong with an ever-increasing bucket list - keeps us youngish.
