Sunset, or getting late for supper

A continuation of my last ski-post. We stayed out in the backcountry later than originally planned, which made for a great sunset. And some interesting headlamp-skiing though dense trees.

Headlamps out, still far from the car... And the frozen crust is even more frozen now than in the morning.

Excellent shots! And that ride in the dark must have been a great experience!

Sounds like you guys didn't plan to do that. What was it like? It sounds like quite a challenge... I really like the third photo!

The plan was to be back at the car around sunset, but we ended up 2 hours delayed in the morning due to car/passenger issues and bad traffic - so we got back later as well. We skied fairly slow and conservatively with the headlamps, but there was at least one tree collision in our party - at slow speed, so no injury luckily. Headlamps always come along, and half of the time they end up being used

Great seeing people enjoying the outdoors! I especially like the third one with the last light illuminating the mountain top.
