2 is a good example of how unaerodynamic bees are. Lucky bees can't read.

I am blown away at the DOF you got on that first bee at only F 6.7! I would kill to get those kind of results with that lens at that F stop. What am I doing wrong?

Wonderful shot, great color and the detail is stunning...

I would kill to get those kind of results at ANY f stop! How do you get the bugs to cooperate with the picture taking process! (Not too mention how to avoid getting stung!)

There are 2 secrets. 1st is get parallel with the subject, but it's not easy when the subject keeps moving or u do it handheld like me^^; 2nd is crop. Try this with ur macro lens, u take 2 shots of something small with lots of details. 1st shots u take at 1:5 macro and cropped. 2nd u take at a size u can fill ur frame. U may notice the 1:5 macro gives u more DOF. I'm just using the power of K20D pixel size

The secrets to taking active insects are determination and patience. Study them and try to predict where they might stay still for a second or 2^^ I was kinda scare getting stung, so I may very slowly and with little mobement^^;
