K-3 and Sigma 70 macro
ƒ stops from 5.6 but most at ƒ16, ISO 100, two second delay and shutter lock up

The conditions of these pictures seems to be the weather has to be warm, and then a sudden freeze, yesterday was reasonably close to -8, then dropped to -27 overnight, perfect for ice crystals on our bed room window. Last time I had many images ruined by shallow DoF, this time taking everything from ƒ5.6 to ƒ 22 I got decent images from each set.

Wonderful! I'm currently looking for an -not so expensive- macro lens!
Congratulations!

The Sigma 70 macro is used for many of the resolution tests on Imaging Resources. It has many advantages, razor sharp, there are mounts for many different systems, making the tests more standard, and being a Sigma, is heavily corrected, for great rendering of out of focus areas. It's one downfall is it's heavy. Eventually I'll trade it for a Pentax 100 WR, just for the weight savings.

Nice shots
I did some of these a while back, but they weren't as nice.

I remember having those on my windows as a boy with only a single piece of glas between my room and the outside. Brings back memories!

These are two single panes with a gap between them but not a sealed gap. I guess a good compromise if you're going for ice crystals.

K20D and Sigma 70-300, the minimum focus distance is so far away I have to focus from the middle of my bed and can't use a tripod. Although I have to say the back ground for the photos is fir trees with snow on the boughs, that's what makes the bokeh.

ISO 400, 210mm, AV
