I feel sorry for the man on the left, the little lens on his little camera is barely bigger than his wristwatch! On the other hand, the men with the big black lenses have something worth waving in the air and showing off. The other thing I noticed was no iPads being pointed at the sky, don't people at air shows know they can be used as a camera in every possible situation?

A surrealistic option would be if a few meters from the herd of photographers a small boy is standing. His weight is on his left food with his right hand stretched to the sky...after just catapulting a paper plane.

OKay, so to finalize the thread this is what was in the air when I was taking the first photo: Adrian Rojek pilot in his MIG29.
The MIG29 photo was taken using the same lens i.e. the green ring DA 55-300.
