I have been shooting events/stage photos for years now and often with people carrying big heavy camera/lenses. I have seen many Canikon users showing up with expensive equipment taking photos at the show and many events. At the beginning it seemed rather intimidating when people with those big guns and mono-pods shove you around pretending that you are not there (sometimes even with my 50-135/k-3 it still seem nothing compare to the big tube lenses). It is intriguing to say the least how these people work and what they do with those fancy equipment (of course D700 earlier and now more prominently with D810 and 5DIII). To me, they are in a different league (sort of). Here is an example of my work vs one of theirs (D700 with 200-500 lens). TBH, I don't even understand why they can not capture the colour of the stage lighting.
