Mt. Wilson
Lens: Samyang 14 mm Camera: Pentax K-5 Photo Location: Los Angeles
Posted By: GeoJerry, 02-21-2016, 12:21 AM

These are a few shots from the observatory at Mt. Wilson in the mountains overlooking Los Angeles. In just a few short miles you travel from essentially desert in the city up through oak woodland and finally into pine forest. The first shot was taken from an elevation of about 5700 ft.

Lovely scenes - I especially like the colors in the first one.

Thanks Merv-o! Yeah that lens is impressive, especially considering the price. Of course it is strictly manual focus...

Fortunately, for a UWA at f/2 or smaller, depth of field will put most of a landscape in the DOF.
