In late January I finally bought a Bialetti Moka Express coffee pot and began pleasurable experimentation with Italian coffee. Two weeks later Renato Bialetti "the Mr. Coffee of Italy" died. I only just found out about that. (The New York Times has
a good obit here.) So to commemorate Signor Bialetti I took some photos and, of course, drank several pots of moka.
Bialetti is Number One The cartoon is of the man himself. I should have used green and red objects for reflections. Didn't think of that.
Moka Express Exploded A first attempt and nowhere near as good as
Alex's/Heie Sigma 18-35 lens exploding from the box but fun to do, even if I am decidedly not a studio photographer.
Moka and Biscuits The scarf was brought back from Rome by my uncle back in the early 60s.
All Gone Now Grazi, Signor Bialetti.
