Got moon--just added stars.
Lens: 55-300mm Pentax Camera: K5IIs Photo Location: Saugus Ma. ISO: 100 Shutter Speed: 1/160s Aperture: F6.3

The full Snow Moon was nice and bright last night. I ducked out the back door and hand held the K5 for a couple of shots.I did use "photographic license" and added stars to make the moon stand out a little more.--charliezap

You really got that moon well! You could probably take a second photo with stars and then do a composite. I think pretty much all photos where the stars and moon are both visible are composites. Moon is just too bright and fast-moving compared to the stars

You may want to watch something like this Create Stars in Photoshop to get more realistic stars.

The only time I've ever gotten stars and moon together was last year's eclipse.

The moon looks fabulous. The stars look cheesy and fake.

Na Horuk has the right idea to take 2 images - one of the stars and one of the moon and composite them afterwards.
