I took shots of this scene with:
- a Super Tak 50/F1.4 @ F5.6
- a Pentax-M 50/F1.7 @F4
- a Pentax-DA 18-55/3.5-5.6 AL II @ 55mm FL & F9.5 (in Manual Focus mode and as close as I could focus).
I preferred the colours & overall sharpness of the new "kit lens" the best. I bought the Pentax-DA to upgrade the crappy Sigma kit lens of similar specs that came with my K100D Super. Shot in RAW. No PP except I moved the black point up to 11 on the Tone curve. Cam settings are 0 for everything except contrast (+1). Natural tone curve setting in the camera. In my opinion it's pretty sharp as is.
A 100% crop shows that the large leaf towards the top right was more in focus than the ladybug. (ISO 200, F9.5, 1/350s)
I'm impressed with the new kit lens.
