Sunrise colors with the K10D
Posted By: regken, 02-10-2007, 08:50 PM

Am still impressed with the way the K10 captures morning light. This one was taken with an old A 50mm f 1.7.

Regards,

Beautiful colors. Too bad that bright orange buoy is in front of the one boat. It is an enjoyable peaceful image.

Thanks! Should I clone out the buoy? Is it a distraction?

Thanks,

I didn't notice the buoy until it was mentioned. The colours are excellent and about the only thing I would suggest changing is rotating the image CCW by a small amount so the horizen is level.....aside from that, I hope you've got this one hanging on the wall!

Andrew,
Thanks. I rotated it and reposted. I think I'll print it out at 20 X16 inches. Thanks your your kind words.

LaRee,
Thank you. Am undesided about the buoy. Don't know if I'll remove it.

Thanks,

Thanks,
While I am not a fan of cloning to remove reality, I think I'd make an except in this case myself. My eye is just too drawn to that bright buoy. Just one persons opinion after all!

Gorgeous picture, I actually like the buoy. It adds a bit of unusual color to the shot and since the middle boat has bright red lights (running lights?) it's not tooo out of place.

Nice capture Ken, the bouy doesn't bother me, but then again I'm used to seeing them like that. I have to admit I like the lines on the older boats better than on the newer ones. And you nailed that morning light, wonderful colors. This is Maine? In a few years (almost 8) I'll be retiring there.

NaCl(I'd move to Portland ME in a heartbeat if I could find a job there)H2O

R. Miller-Thank you for your comments.
H2O-That old hull design is still being produced in Corea and Joneport. Before moving to Maine be aware there are 2 very different ways of life in the state. Downeast Mainers will tell you that anything west of Ellsworth is part of Massachusetts, and people from Portland will look at downeast as a foreign country. Thanks for your comments.

Cool, Ken, in more ways that one. I like the buoy just fine - fits the scene as far as I'm concerned.
