First time shooting try to shoot studio style
Posted By: vdubbin099, 07-06-2008, 10:54 AM

Well I was bored and I just got a 2nd af360 flash so I thought I would try to set up a little backdrop and take some pics of my dog. This is the first time I have ever tried anything like the so C&C is greatly appreciated.

Great pics. Your pooch remind me of our daughter's pug. Sorry if that offends, since it's not my intent to do so. Here is a link to see the pug. Enjoy! -Paul :-)

Very good series. I really like the light in 2 and the capture in 3 is a prize winner! I assume you used the 2 flashes wirelessly? Well controlled. My only critique would be that the lens used might be a bit too wide. His head looks too large for the body in many of the shots but that effect works perfectly in 3, 5, 6 &7

Thanks for the comments, In most of the pics I was trying to use a wide angle to overemphasize his already large head, but maybe it was a little to much? I had one flash on a stand and the other was camera mounted.

Haha, I just took him outside and played with him for about an hour and by then he was too lazy to move once we came back into the A/C'd house oo ya and the little meat treats work pretty well too

I converted a couple of the pics to BW I think it works better for most of them what do you guys think?

Cute dogs and cute pics!

I generally find these little pug type doggies to be easy subjects... they naturally mug for the camera...
