Large parts of the Dutch dunes are infested with vast areas of dune scrubs. This is thought to have a negative impact on biodiversity, hence this scrub enchroachment is cleared in many places. From a photographic point of view I always thought of scrubs as being difficult to capture, let alone to have it in B&W. Therefore, I am rather happy with this one, but this happiness might be biased by the aforementioned experienced difficulties.

So, please, be open and tell me what you think. Is this a way to go, or is it a no-no. What do you like, or even better: what do you not like? I promise you: in this case no rudeness exists. And if you want to take a closer look: click the photo, and you will be redirected to Flickr....

Very cool--I love these kinds of texture shots, not that I've pulled one off like this. I'm curious if you've thought about split-tone options? Right now, I keep wishing for some sort of armature--the whites of the largest tree trunk in the lower left, the dead branches to the right, then the fence post and road in the distance could perform that function I think, but right now it's hard to pick up that filigree.

Looks very nice! Would it have been possible to get higher up, so that more of the road were visible?

I don't know Rense; I am just not feeling this one. It is almost too much if you know what I mean. So much scrub and not much chance to isolate any portion of it. I bet is is beautiful to see though.

Thanks Susan, much appreciated! I think there is some liking in this one, but I understand whenever someone doesn't like one (or all) of my photos. I see this one as an experiment, and I am very curious to know how it will turn out printed.... Thanks again!!!
