These cats were very hard to catch in action. I was lying flat on the driveway pretty close to get a near full frame shot, and the striped cat would *not* sit still! She kept running around, chasing birds, jumping on kittens. I couldn't manage a jump shot, but I did get the claw shot which I like
And yes, the 50-135 performed great. I had a couple of shots slightly underexposed, but that was from having metering in matrix and getting some bright reflection from the driveway I think. These were all in-camera JPEG.
Most shots just touched up with a short run through noise ninja (many were at ISO 800) to smooth out the bokeh noise and simutaneously add a little sharpen to the hair and whiskers.
I also bumped up the "clarity" slider in ACR just slightly.
I think I only had to touch the saturation on a single picture, and contrast remained mostly untouched.
