Misc Testing performance Vintage lens

I adapted a peace of black cardboard inside the lens with a round hole at the center (diam: 12 mm) to reduce the amount of light in order to increase performance of the lens. I have obtained good results specially in focusing and contrast. Please let me hear your comments. What do you think about this technique?

Beautiful dog. The lens seems to be working well for you with your do-it-yourself adjustments.
