As EM said, both great shots. The first one has great water movement.

Nice work. Hard to pick best but #1 has an edge in novelty.

That first one is special and I love the turtle catching some shade from the pelican. Well done.

thanks PJ1, he was thrashing about like that every few minutes so I had a few practice runs

thank you Susan, you know I didn't see the turtle while taking the shot, concentrating on the bird, focus & framing etc, only during the PP I noticed the bonus turtle, cheers

This is like the 5th time I'm looking at these and the only word I can come up with is WOW!!
Not only did you capture the splash and a crystal clear, sharp image but in both shots the ISO is at 1600
and both images are noise free! Nice job!!

thanks so much for those kind words, I find the noise performance of the K30 pretty good and frequently shoot at iso1600 when Birding to get fast shutter speeds to keep camera shake to a minimum and so I'm ready for any action or BIF shots, cheers
