You seem to have favored a more dreamy look than a very sharp photo and that does work.

First I thought this painting needs a professional clean to get that old yellow varnish off. Then I was looking for some cracks in the old dried oil on canvas paint but couldn't find any. That was when I realised it was a photograph.
