Landscape Vale, Oregon

One of my favorite places is the area between Vale and John Day, Oregon. I just happened to be there when these gorgeous clouds appeared. I stood beside the road for several minutes, just letting the beauty of it all soak in!

Lovely scene. Dramatic sky and bright, side lit foreground standing out on the distant background. Happening to be there is a great experience.

A nice perspective on the scale of things. The houses (and cows) with those mighty mountains in the background and majestic skies do look pretty small.

Never been to that area of Oregon. Near the fossil beds I presume? Quite bucolic and lovely.

That's my friend's farm you've got there. I lived in the area for a few years back in the eighties. The thing I remember the most was that the sky was the bluest blue I had ever seen, nearly 365 days a year. The high desert is a wondrous place.
