Rally Sweden 2016
Lens: Sigma APO 100-300mm F4 EX DG Camera: Pentax K-5 Photo Location: Sweden
Posted By: red5isalive, 03-24-2016, 07:09 AM

Dear members,

As other times, I'd like to share with you some photos of that wonderful event, WRC Rally Sweden 2016, wich was seriously about to get cancelled because of the lack of snow in their roads.

Actually usually there are 21 stages in that event, and that time there have been only 12 stages left !

Anyway it's been snowing and finally the rally went on!

Here some pics I took and I hope you like!

Weather has been tricky and I found a lack of a bit in between lens between my Pentax 16-45mm, Pentax DA 50mm and the Sigma 100-300mm, something like 70-210mm or so.

Best regards!

Thank you! Felling happy to see you liked them guys

Number two was taken with the Pentax DA 16-45mm F4 on the way back to the house, from a frozen lake and carrying multiple stuff with me.

Number five was taken with the Sigma APO EX 100-300mm F4 and a Sigma converter 1.4x.

That first shot has the essence of speed and reckless control not exhibited in the following shots. It is spectacular. That said the last shot has close to the same character.

I used to rally 35-40 years ago in some Canadian and American rally championship events, so I know rally. The tack sharp shots so prevalent these days look good to the unwashed, but they don't show raw competition. Your first and last shots do.

Thank you Davep,

Yes those photos you say might show some "work" from the driver, some "fight" against the elements.

Raw rally is not anymore existing. I mean, check the Paris - Dakar rally from the 80's and nowadays, it is the best example of what it used to be and what is now; or rallying! You had long stages very hard and difficult and nowadays it's all about super fast and short stages.

Thank you :-)

If you liked those you said before, might it be that you might like those ones also
