Faith in a Seed
Lens: A50/2.8; K20/4 Camera: K5 Photo Location: Hastie Natural Area, Knoxville ISO: 80

A mid-morning's walk through the Hastie Natural Area this Good Friday morning:

1.) Yellow trillium, just before blooming. (Trillium seeds are dispersed by ants--mymercochory--and thus often end up in unusual places...)

2. A "proof-of-concept" shot of a foamflower with my K20/4 and Canon 500D close-up lens--I'm trying to find a FL that provides a bit of the environment in the background.

Otherwise, it's out with the old and in with the new...

Thanks! I'm still seeing if the K20 can be pressed into service--certainly not a "technical" macro option, but it might bring something new to the party in terms of composition.

Thanks for the spring walk in the woods. I love the trillium and the foam flower. The idea of showing a bit of their habitat makes it more appealing.

Thanks! I have to admit I've get to get a tight shot of a yellow trillium that I like--they almost look like an artificial plant you'd pick up in Big Lots. I might have to try some monochrome conversions.

Thanks! Some overnight rain and a bit of cloud cover made for gentler shooting conditions this morning.
