Up close and personal with Pine Siskins

800ISO, ƒ8, AV mode (between 1/320s and 1/2000s)

There are so many, I stand in the middle of the flock and wait for them to land on a convenient branch, that I have my camera pointed at Because sooner or later they land on every thing around. You just have to wait. The move slow, and it doesn't matter how close they are, they usually hang around for a bit.

Great shots!
For me birds seem to land wherever I don't have the camera pointed...

That ice hanging off the bottom of the feeder tells me that it isn't quite spring there yet Norm. Nice shots as always.

You have to wait bertwert... tripods are so your arms don't get tired waiting.

Sunday it will be 10ºC or almost 50ºF. But today there's 6 inches of snow and frozen rain on the ground.
