Quite an ominous sky towering over the mountains. Very nice.

Thanks. Yes, I love this photo. I underexposed the shot at ISO 400 and then bumped up the shadows. I am assuming that even a decent size print would show a lot of noise. No?

I'm certainly not the person to ask--I definitely would start bugging the PP gurus on the board, though! That might be a special enough exposure, even, to invest in the various plug-in's available (e.g. Topaz DeNoise, etc.)

The detail in the forground really makes it alive. But I would suggest leveling it--it doen't look like you will lose anything important--just a bit down on the left side.

Really an exceptional image.

As regards noise--(I think) some noise will not detract. Actually the "painterly feeling" will be fine. In fact both noise reduction and sharpening (more?) could negatively affect it. (Likely no more pp--although the real test is if/when you print it.)
