Fun with FE lens in Yosemite
Lens: DA10-17 Camera: K-5 Photo Location: Yosemite, CA ISO: 140
Posted By: jcdog2006, 03-26-2016, 06:12 PM

I've owned this DA10-17mm FE for years and hardly used it. What a shame to me!

DA12-24 is not "wide" enough for landscape sometimes, so I decided to give this FE a try.

Once got the pictures displayed on the screen, I know I love this FE lens. The color is so crispy and natural, there is no need for any PP.

It's hard to frame with a FE, but there is chance to get some creative compositions. I'll try playing with this FE again next hike.

#1 Closing to the Upper fall

#2 There is no way to take a picture like this with DA12-24

#3 @13mm, any distortion?

#4 Shoot against the sun

#5 The dry, hot and steep switch-back, I hate this section. @10mm

#6 Atop the trail and on the way to the brim of cliff

#7 Atop Yosemite Fall

#8 The view is awesome, @17mm

#9 On the way down, @10mm

#10 It's still not wide enough? @10mm

The FE Lens adds new aspects to this series and it is nice and sharp.

Thanks for your kind word. I'm still learning on how to use this FE lens.

It's hard to see any distortion @17mm, this FE is light in weight and pretty versatile for landscape photography.

Have a nice one.

Great lens but I suspect the photographer had a bit to do with these. Thanks for posting.

Hopefully I didn't damage the reputation of this lens too much and scare people away from buying it.

Fun shots with great effects. I haven't used my DA 1017 in - literally - years. It's time I take it off the shelf!

Excellent images, and the FE definitely brings something different to an area we've seen before. Thanks for sharing.
