As good as the 60-250 is, 250mm isn't really ideal for birding, so yes, heavy cropping. When I get the car, the condo, and the credit card paid off, I'll start saving for a proper birding lens ... someday

I presumed so, if it wasn't cropped you'd have to be pretty much in the bird's face

Beautiful shot! Cropping is great for wildlife photos, otherwise we wouldn't have many to show.

When looking for birds my 1.4 TC is usually attached to the 60-250, and it's still bit short.
