That's an amazing shot--I'd love to see the "liner notes" (e.g. use of grads and/or PP) for it.

Thanks for elaborating--I'm still trying to find a solution to taming that "notch" above the streambed...you don't want to hammer it or the trees on either side will be too dark. I suppose the solution is "just enough" not to crush the blacks or blow-out the brights, and see what you can do in post.

Ha, an embarrassment of riches, but I'd still go with the first--its emphasis on the falls seems forthright and honest, and I like the wide-angle "anchor" of the rocks in the lower left corner.

I lean ever so slightly to the second shot because of the extra light at the top of the falls, just adds something to it ( imho ).
Also depends a bit on the ultimate end use, I am assuming a print in my comments.

The first picture on 500px.com received higher pulse 94.6, the second 96.5, mean people like the second more.
I hope that the both pictures were able to convey the beauty of this amazingly beautiful place.
