Playing around with the now free Google Nik Collection. B&W conversion using Silver Efex Pro 2.

View of Maryland Heights from St Peter's Roman Catholic Church. In the foreground left is Harper House, built by Harpers Ferry founder Robert Harper and known as the Mansion on the Hill.

Nice shot. Harpers Ferry is a nice place to shoot. I live about 50 miles from there and last fall a group from my photo club spent a Saturday there shooting. Grey overcast day and cold as the dickens. Unfortunately, some of Harpers Ferry burned recently.

Takes me back to one of my earliest photographic experiences, about 8-years old with a Polaroid Swinger, I don't think any of the photos survived, but still have the memory.
That's a pretty corner of the world, for some awful things that happened there.

You should come back! Thomas Jefferson, after all, thought the view of the Potomac and Shenandoah rivers coming together was worth a trip across the Atlantic! (And that was no easy trip in those days).
