What do you think? Good? Bad?

This one was shot hand held.

It's a big place man! I'm getting there! LOL

The shot above was done hand held. I actually went back and tried some shots with a tripod later on. I will see how those turned out

Once I get em post processed I will put up one and we can compare

Here is a second attempt. This time using a tripod. Which one do you like better and why?

We spent 10 days in Istanbul last year... Brings back memories

I like the second one, at least because the lamp isn't in it. There is more detail to the Galata tower and the building to the left too...

Yes! I can't stand that lamp!

I am very partial to the second one myself... but I took that one just tonight.. I saw the first... then I was like 'It's alright but I just have to do this again'...

On the first one I was walking around and didn't have a tripod or anything. It's really just a snapshot that was taken hand held...the second one I moved up and down the street... got LOW...really low... I think the locals were laughing at me for this crazy foreigner laying on the road LOL

Thank you!

On the other hand I am partial to the second one, but the first one has a certain 'street' gritty feel to it... the pedestrian... all that gives it a slightly different feel. I still don't like the lamp though... but that said it has a different style that I was going for... I thought about adding some grain to it... or even using that free Nix software they are giving away to give an old film look...

The pedestrian and a few other things gives the first one a bit of something too... I guess it all depends on the mood LOL

Yep, you're right on both counts. The first is a mood shot and the second has more detail. I like them both.

Very good photographs. The B&W give a very different energy to the images IMO. Well taken.

Six of one, half dozen of the other. LOL

It's either two weeks or a fort night.

You know... I have been going around a bit and I am finding that I am shooting wide angle A LOT. 16mm is the widest I have (on a zoom) but the idea that I am going wide angle all the time is interesting. In some cases I am like 'I wish I still had my fisheye'... or "I really need an ultra wide"...

It's making me thing the K-1 with a 20mm lens would be a mighty interesting combination.

I am learning a lot of stuff to be honest. Before I didn't even own a zoom lens. Now I use that thing all the time...

My vote goes to the second one. It looks like a more deliberate and better composed image than the first one.

I prefer the second one overall myself... but the voting has been pretty evenly split... The second one is winning, but just by some
