Very nice set of "action" pictures!
What really strikes me is the fact that even at ISO1600 there is no "noise" to be seen !
Quite the opposite from what I am getting with this very same gear.
Just out of curiosity... did you have to do any denoising in PP ?
Cheers!

No more than 10 on the NR Luminance slider in Lightroom. (It goes up to 100 if you don't have LR) It was an overcast day. I overexposed a bit, then brought the exposure down in processing. Also, there's almost no cropping at all. The more you crop, the more you'll see the noise. Also, the noise could be easily hidden in the water splashing.

Thanks for your reply !

I am really trying hard to figure out this beast that is the K3 vs. my K5 and of course there is one heck of a learning curve here.
Nice to know that very little NR was done on your pics, that is comforting.
As for the RAW converter, I am using (now) CS5. I tried the DCU5 provided with the camera but I find that I am starting to get somewhat better results with CS5.
And you are absolutely right about cropping: it sure brings "noise" up ! (Another lesson learned here). On the other hand, I do like to crop some images quite often for the "reach".

Nice shots in your Flickr photostream too !

Cheers!

He sure knows how to make a splash. We will hope that he got himself all clean. Nice job.
