three brothers
Posted By: thomasjmpark, 07-10-2008, 10:45 PM

There was a bit of gang mentality going on here as I was mugged of my tuna sandwich! The reason the fore ducks head is blurred is cause they were driving me backward, beaks snapping (actually got to close to focus). I think they are the dons of some sort of duck mafia organisation

I think you are much too easily intimidated. Stomp your boots on the dock and they should scatter like leaves in the wind. Remind the brave three amigos that hunting season is just around the corner, that ought to make them 'quack off'! They're nothing more than someones future entre selection.

We have a local park that harbors about 200 of these. Each and every one of them professional (and highly successful) beggars.

Thomas I suspect foul play was going on here. I need to inform you however that you were accosted by an all female gang. Unless me eyes mistake me these are mallards, The males of the species have grey bodies and green heads. Still, pushy females are to be avoided!

The Duck Test

If it quacks like a duck and it waddles like a duck and it has webbed feet like a duck, perhaps we're dealing with a duck here.

I think they might well be males. Males have the green head and white collars only in spring-early-summer, i.e. during the mating period, in mid summer in their summers dress they are almost like the females, only they are usually darker in colour.

Great shots, but I wish you'd get all your ducks to line up.

I'm concerned that the thread went from duck mafia to pushy women

lol to all replies they were actually great little ducks, one sat on my lap for a bit while the other 2 were either sat on my bag or at my feet (of course not helped by the fact that I had a loaf of bread!).

4:30 seems to be the best time to go out at the moment, no tourists so its a very peaceful place.
