Thank you. First time I have been able to get within cooee of either. Usually they occupy a spot in the middle of the frame, or I get a nice photo of the tail feathers.
Campaspe reserve at Axedale is turning into a favoured spot with a variety of birds.

The general area around Bendigo is fairly dry farmland, but along the creeks and rivers we have stands of beautiful river red gums which provide habitat for a diverse species of birds.
I guess this is true for all places as I am often a little envious of the photographers who show images of sea eagles, jays and woodpeckers.
