I don't recommend doing this!

This is not the recommended method for getting a shot of a yellow jacket. Sorry, he's a little fuzzy, I couldn't get him to be completely still for this shot.

It looks like you might have loved him a bit too much, his legs are in the familiar death fetal cross position. - ha ha

I was able to catch this guy by stunning him first. A good swift flick against a window seems works well to stun them. I then picked him up while he was still twitching to get this handheld shot. Soon after this shot was taken, he met his great reward. Sorry Lowell, no disclaimer for this shot.

I have tried for a while to get a macro shot of a yellow jacket, but they are always too fast for me. But now I have a not-so-good technique for getting a shot or two.

I tried that with a cricket. 15 minutes later it was dead and leaking some liquid through his mouth. Still got the shots though
